New Pup Coming Home Soon

Post by FlyingDutchman12 » Tue Jul 28, 2015 2:31 pm

I'm super excited as we are only a few short weeks away from traveling to pick up our new Pointer pup. I specifically requested an orange and white male and it looks like I'll get to choose between two from a recent litter that was whelped on June 28th. I wanted to share these pictures from the kennel as I imagine the folks on this forum can appreciate my joy. I'm like a kid a waiting for Christmas!

Now to start thinking of a name....

You've got an orange and white one there and a lemon and white one as well! Though the color looks the same, orange have dark noses and lemons have the pink nose.

Gorgeous puppies! Pick the boldest of the two (o.k., that's what I would do!). Pick the one you like best.

Thanks RoostersMom! I saw the lighter nose too, but wasn't sure if the photo was just a little overexposed or not. I'm happy with either lemon or orange (there were apparently two liver and white pups in this litter as well that were females). Bold is a good suggestion too. I always try to go into this objectively, keeping my emotions in check and trying to select a pup based on how “bold” they are, how well socialized they seem or which one demonstrates perfect confirmation. If I’m honest with you all, that plan never survives past the first 10 seconds with the puppies. Case in point; our current 13 year old EP was selected because he fell asleep in my wife's arms while we were trying to scrutinize his littermates... Seemed as though he chose us in that case.

That is a good looking pup. Congratulations! I look forward to the stories of the hunts and mischief.
I'd rather live on the side of a mountain, than wander through canyons of concrete and steel.

Thank you! We think he's a handsome little dude. He's all Elhew out of Nitro Kennels. His breeding is listed in the link below if you are interested.
