UFTA/NBDCA Ohio results

Post by ckfowler » Tue Oct 03, 2006 10:14 am

Scout and I managed to finish the points she needs for her first UFTA and NBDCA Open/Top Gun CH title this weekend. The trial was open for participants to sanction with both organizations but not required. She earned 2nd for Sat and 1st for Sun with UFTA but the team that beat us on Sat was not competing for NBDCA points so both days will count as wins there.

Rain intermittent and 74 on Sat, breeze intermittent and 76 on Sun. Tall green cover with lots of goldenrod and the ever dreaded Olive bushes.

Thanks! Not a large group of dogs but several have multiple X CH titles and great handlers. Got into these and remain largely just to extend the season and hang out with the great people involved. Never figured on titles, Scout is spayed so not building a breeding program, etc. Just tickled that my little foot warmer and I can have fun and look good doing it too!

Looks like you are doing great Colin. Do you ever run with a Joey in Ky? He has a Wire I worked and just finished FF, he has taken a 1, and 2nd so far.

Joey Preston, he came up here a while back for a trial and I have run against him, his uncle, and cousin at the Nationals. If I recall, he came for a really hot Sept or March trial where birds were hard to come by and had one really good run. Other dogs were blowing past the gate birds for ones at the far end and he scraped his three before reaching the halfway point by controlling his dog and being thorough. I had to send my dog to the Nationals with a friend last year but recall Joey's uncle making the top 5 the year before. Good dogs!
