Very First Ribbon (pictures)

Post by Ayres » Mon Jul 12, 2004 12:16 am

My little guy showed his stuff today, earning a 4th place finish out of about 15 dogs (ages 7 weeks to 6 months) in a "wing on a string" competition. The staunchest point was the winner.

At first, Justus was very curious and cautious with the pigeon.

He was pointing, but sniffing and creeping along as well. Then, when the bird flew, he just had to take off after it.
Image

He even nipped three tailfeathers out at one point, much to the amazement and amusement of the crowd.

After a quick romp chasing it, he finally figured out that he couldn't (and wasn't supposed to) catch it, so he slammed on point like nobody's business.
Image

For all his hard work, he earned his very first ribbon!!! (Danyelle took him in the ring while I took the photos, so she got to take the picture with him on this one)

Now, he's got his eyes on bigger things.

He is too cute! I love those goofy pointer elephant-ears!! Couldn't hold back the laugh at the one of him taking off after the pigeon

What an awesome point! That competition must have been a blast to be at. Puppies are the best! Looks like you've got quite a little guy.
