Another Blue For Roo !!!
Last weekend at Crow Hassen, Minn.Twin Cities GWPC, my girl Roo won a 5pt major Open Gun Dog stake. 25 dogs. This is her first broke placement, at 25 months old. She has never ran on those grounds, but ran like she owned the place.
We red-shirted her for her Derby season and it is showing the benefits.
Pics to come.

CONGRATS Doug and Roo! Love how that title just rolls off the tongue, as I'm sure you do too
That's a pretty impressive start to "placing" in a Broke Stake!

Re: Another Blue For Roo !!!
Thanks guys. That was the fourth trial Jim has run her in. Every other time he's run her, she's been lost to the front for too long. Jim's always found her standing. One time she moved on her third back. One time she moved too much to mark.
We always knew she was an AA dog, just tried to keep her close till she was more limb broke. After summer camp she'll run in AA stakes more than likely.
Considering that when I sent her to Jim's a year ago that it took 20 mins to catch her after a run, she's doing very well, and Jim is doing a heck of a job with a very good dog.

Congrats on the 5pt major.
After talking and thinking about what I should do with my next dog the Derby will also be out. I havebeen dealing with running her in two Derby braces and the things she was exposed to.

Fuzz~That's how she got her name. When I first got her it was more of a Roooo Roooo Roooo. So I figured it would be a good name. When I saw her at the Nebraska GSP trial 2 weeks ago, she just talked her head off. She has quite the personality! .
You know what's funny, Jim didn't even mention the weather when he called to tell me that she won. I've seen pics on FB of the river that ran through the parking lot.
