Good Weekend

Post by lvrgsp » Mon Apr 04, 2011 3:35 pm

Had a good weekend trial, got to ride, handle, scout and chase dogs around all weekend with some good friends. Ended up some how handling my pup to a first place in the Open Derby, (Thanks Clark for scouting him and keeping him to the front.... ) against an excellent field of derby dogs IMO.
And we squeeked out a second in the open puppy, just didn't have the gas in the tank to finish real strong. Big Thanks to Dennis Brath for the scouting in the puppy and gathering Hank up in the back corner and getting him to the front, also for the use of your horses. No matter the outcome a good weekend spent with good folks. Not to shabby for a barely 10 month old pup...........Rick and I have kind of seen some potential in him so we've been working on him, thanks Buddy, you should of been there.

Would like to say that is the 5th placement for 3 dogs in juvenile stakes for Jills pups out of Bandit. And I hear alot of good things from the other pups too. Extremely happy with how this litter turned out.

Maybe we will see what she can turn out of her next litter............
(OH yea thanks for scouting Jill for me Clark)..........

Also big congrats to Steve Slack and his Derby placement, very nice dog. And to Mark and Deja for her placement in the OGD as well. And Clark and Bikin's placement in the derby

Did I forget something?
Oh yea hey Bill............wanna go fishing?
And ............Dat aint two pillows......................Hahahahahahaha

Huge congrats Chip!! Looks like this turned out to be a real nice breeding. I haven't entered Buck in any type of trials, but he is looking great! Good nose, stands his birds well and his stylish point gives me goose bumps. :D

I knew Buck would never be an issue,,,,,well rather Big Hank wasnt gonna let ya take him home without her approval ya know, none the less Buck walked right out of the whelping box with style......and one thing for sure I have heard consistantly with all the pups is they have incredible noses and patience on there birds.........glad to hear he is doing well for ya.

Instead of BBQ Chicken, I think I will do a full scale BBQ pork and Brisket for the puppy owners..We'll do er up .....lets just say TEXas style......... Woo Hoo

I'm still waiting on the first batch of BBQ chicken to arrive! Interesting enough Dennis had a smudge of BBQ sauce on his face and down his shirt when he delivered angel

Chip,
Huge Congrats to you and Hank. One heck of accomplishment for such a young dog in very tough competition.

Thanks Robert,
It was a good derby stake with alot of good dogs, I was pleased with his performance, more pleased with his showing in the puppy stake having to run back to back so close in warm conditions, he showed me alot of heart.

Yep I knew Dan handled him I didnt see his OLGD brace, I wasnt there until saturday morning. I believe I cut his bracemate loose for Dennis though in the OGD, it went fast and crazy for sure. Were you there? I remember seeing someone there with Dan. Anyways congratulations.

Chip,
Congratulations on Hanks win and placement. I was hoping to make the trial but work got in the way.
(Actually, I'm happy to have work again.)

Good luck with the rest of the season.

I wanted to post this for a good friend of mine. This is another of the Bandit x Jill pups winning at a local hunt club event in northern Ohio. Dan is no stranger to the Gsp's, I am glad to see him and Tucker do some winning.

Congrats to you Dan and Tucker...

Thanks Fellars...
Really happy with the way the pups are doing....really happy with all the wins and placements.
But more importantly to me is the reports I am hearing about how they are doing in formal training, and it sounds like they are all doing well in their respective training.....a few of them broke out already and a few more very close. Thats what is good to hear. We will see how they fair next spring... :D
