NA test and first field trail

Post by PeterS » Mon Sep 20, 2010 2:58 pm

I am so happy for my little Weimeraner Baxter. I had him all messed up eating quail, he stopped pointing, and did not have any interest in birds anymore. The local Del Val NAVHDA chapter helped us back on track. We tested last weekend and he got a prize 2! I was very happy with that as on the pheasant track, the last event, he foot hurt so bad he was only walking on three legs. He hurt in in the field, cut his pad. I was going to pick him up but he really did not go anywhere and that is where we lost all the points. He had a perfec score until then but I am still happy.

We had a field trial this weekend and he did great. 3rd place in amateur walking puppy! NICE! This was from the dog that stopped running and would walk behind me for at least a month! We also got compliments in Derby but blew it as we could not find birds. I was still happy that I was told he had nice moves!

We can't wait for the next one but it looks like I have to get riding lessons now LOL

PeterS, you have reason and should be happy and proud. A big congrats!! The NAVHDA chapters are a great resource.

Peter,
Congrats on a good job by your dog & you!
Riding is easier than you think- just get in the saddle and go.

Good luck in the future,

Rob
May all your dog's points be productive & your arrows avoid all timber

Peter -

Congratulations and also...fair warning.

You are sliding down that slipery slope toward the DARK SIDE.

Those $2 ribbons are gonna get you in BIIIIG trouble. :D :D :D

Rob is right about the horse thing. If you can climb into the saddle on most decent Tennessee Walkers, the horse will do the rest.
