Show Brag

Post by MTO4Life » Mon Jul 12, 2010 2:09 pm

Hi All,

I'm pretty new to showing dogs, so I thought I'd pass along my brag from this weekend. I entered my dog in a bunch of shows this weekend past (3 all breed shows and 3 specialties) and am pretty proud of my girl. On the friday, we took Reserve Winners Bitch in the all breed show, and then took Winners Bitch in the Ontario All Pointing Breed Specialty. On the saturday, we again took Reserve Winners Bitch in the all breed show, and then stepped it up and and took Best of Winners at the Canadian National Brittany Specialty! On the sunday, she was the bridesmaid again with Reserve Winners Bitch in the all breed show, and then went Winners Bitch at the Ontario Brittany Club Specialty!

I know our shows in Canada aren't as big as the U.S. shows, but I am pretty darn proud of my little girl. I'm very new to showing, so I think we went out and showed them what a field dog can do! Here is the picture from our BOW win at the national specialty.

Thanks for reading!!

It's icing on the cake to take a good bird dog in the show ring, and get it done there too!

Congrats  from another newbie handler.

We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare.
And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made.

Very very nice. Your dog looks great and I am proud that you went in the ring with her and won. Kind of puts all of those saying an amateur can't win in their place. It can be done by anyone willing to try.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Thanks all. I was definately nervous as I hadn't shown in a year and a half. However, I figured I just get out there and do it. It payed of big and we'll see if we can finish her. I'd rather be running her in trials, and more importantly, I'd rather be hunting her, but in the summer, fun with the dog IS fun with the dog!!!
