On Saturday she ran huge in the Derby. She made moves that were 1/4 mile plus and had 2 beautiful finds. One was 400 yards away and it took me probably 4 or 5 minutes to get there. Anyway she ran like a puppy and chased her birds and played with them, then a deer got up and she got on the track for awhile. She just ran her self out of gas, and didn't finish strong at all.
On Sunday in the Puppy at the breakaway she made a move that was close to a half mile. Once she went over the hill we didn't see her for close to 5 minutes. Once we got over the hill she was way to the front. I got her turned and she finished strong a good 400 yards to the front into the 20 mph wind.
She tore that place up. I think her walking trial days are probably over though, she's almost too big for me to handle on foot. I sent her home with Jim West to get her pattern straightened out, and maybe a little bird work to steady her up at the flush, and we'll see what she can do in horseback stakes!!
