This is a little late, but wanted to share...My dog (Hi Point's Nuke Powered Tank) aka "Duke" & I took First Place in the Ametuer Gun Dog event at the GSPC of Ohio held in Barkeyville, PA in April. This is our First Win...and only our (his) 3rd horse back trial event ever! Our 2nd event, held the day before, we were in the call backs in the Open Gun Dog; however, handler error prevented us from placing
This win the next day made up for the huge disappointment the day before. Plus got him 3 points as a bonus!!
I got lots of complements on him and we are looking forward to the fall season. Below is a picture of our placement and a few training pictures leading up to. I have been training him...or is it he's been training me?? Eitherway, we are both learning from each other and having lots of fun along the way. He started out as a guide dog that I used at a local hunting perserve, but then I decided to give us both a chance at the field trial level. He will be 3 in July so, hopefully, we will have many more events together. He's also the 1/2 brother to my avitar dog, Jager. Thanks for letting me 'brag' a little.
