Pacific Coast Championship Kudos

Post by DGFavor » Thu Mar 26, 2009 11:49 pm

Wanted to give a shout out to R-Heaton's CH Idaho's Lucky Strike for coming about as close to a repeat win at the Pacific Coast Open AA Ch. last week as he could. "Ben" garnered a RU CH placement amongst another nice field of championship contenders at the west's oldest, and some would say most prestigious, championship. Congrats dude!!

Further kudos to Ben's littermate, CH Idaho's Clean Sweep, handled by Sheldon Twer, for earning the Pacific Coast Open SD Ch. a couple days later! His championship resume is piling up as well.

Breeding some good schtuff there Rich!

Thanks guys,,,,, I was real happy with the RU spot, I knew Ben had done a nice job and it would take a real good performance to beat him and it did in the last brace. Sean Kelly's dog went out and flat got it done,,,, really nice job huge congrats to him.

I'm just as proud of Idaho's Clean Sweep,,, just heard after winning the Pacific Coast Shooting Dog Championship he turned around and took a RU in the National Chukar Shooting Dog Championship,,,, so double congrats to him.

We were actually braced together in the National Chukar AA,,, he was doing a nice job,, handier than Ben,,, not sure what was with Ben that day,, ran big but if there was a draw, ridge or creek that would suck him in,,,, he'd take it,,, pretty frustrating but that trialing and its hard on those dogs to sit 10 days on the stake out. Both of us are still chasing one more Nat. qualifier win to get to go back to Ames.

Sorry man, I shoulda been there for ya'. Coulda duct taped me to the saddle, stuck the Pleuri-Vac draining my chest tube in one saddle bag, stuck my IV bag in the other saddle bag and got after it like the scouts of old woulda done. Just too soft nowadays, too much quit in me.

Nice on the Clean Sweep placement. Up to nine or ten championship placements in that litter now isn't it?? Crikeys! (watched "Australia" yesterday mate)

Knowing Dr. Doug in a small way, it has to be killing him to be laying around and the trial season fast approaching. I saw the ad in the field for the Region 9 championship, will you miss that Doug or are you going down and sit in the parking lot, (N O T)

Congrats on your placement. Is this Sean from Alberta? What dog did he win with?

Is this Sean from Alberta?
  You gotta specify when those two are around. This was California Sean Kelly, not Canada Sean Kelly but Rich said they were both there competing!

I do like the concept though of having a couple guys out there with the same name - always see the same name in the placements and wonder "who is this guy"? Any other DGFavor's out there interested in some bird dogs?? Probably take a baker's dozen of us to even approach the success of these 2 guys!!
