Thank you!

Blaze won the OGD stake at Susquehanna Brittany Club's trial this weekend (29 starters I believe) to finish his FC. Because this was the last weekend to qualify for our national gun dog championships, the trial was like the who's who of the eastern and east central regions. Met LOTS of new people, ran against a couple of the top ranked Brittany gun dogs in the country, competed against lots of dogs we'd never seen before, and I have to say the host club was just wonderful.

Having NEVER run a single puppy or derby stake, Blaze finished in 15 trials, all amateur handled (well...only 9 of those trials were with the consent of his trainer, Pete DeAngelis). Blaze just recently turned 4 yrs old, is show pointed including a major, and OFA-good (anyone looking for a nice dual quality stud? :D :D ). He will be returning to the show ring after field trial season to work on his bench championship.

On a side note, friends lost their young dog in the 13th brace (of 15 braces), and everyone...and I do mean everyone from the kitchen volunteers to the FT Chairman, went above and beyond to find that dog. She was recovered beat up and scared but safe and sound, thank goodness. It would have been impossible to celebrate Blaze's victory if Brandy wasn't safe and sound in her crate next to him.

Cudos go out to Bobby and Barb Youngs, Dennis, Marilyn and everyone else who helped find Brandy.

Congrats on the win and title. Get him finished on the bench now.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Thank you everyone! Still smiling here!

Helen, my brace sheet has 16 braces (Tessa was a bye in the 16th)....so 31 original starters. Tessa and Sadie were both scratched....so 29? Not that it matters....if it was 28 starters, it was still a 5 point major and he only needed 3 singles. Guess I'll have to wait for AKC to post the results to know for sure.

I don't know if I'll be back from our gun dog nationals for Anthracite's walking trial....depends how many entries they get. I'll definitely be at their trial in November though.
