Chloe's getting her groove on :-)

Post by Karen » Sun Apr 08, 2012 6:09 am

After 10 months with her trainer, we picked Chloe up 3 weeks ago.

1st time I ran her, I lost her.

2nd time I ran her....OAA red ribbon.

3rd time I ran her....OLGD red ribbon (qualified for our National Gun Dog Championship this year)

4th time I ran her...our first hour stake and a classic that drew some REALLY nice dogs, 4th place

5th time I ran her.....3rd place in an OAA stake (she's NOT AA, and I knew that going in and the judges withheld 1st & 2nd, so she was the best dog in the stake).

I was really afraid it would take us a while to click after being with a trainer for nearly a year, but by yesterday, she just laid down the most fantastic shooting dog ground race, handled, and her birdwork was just amazing (3 pieces of it)....best I've ever seen her do. I can't wait until our next trial!!!

So now she has 7 adult AKC placements, all owner handled, and 1 AF adult placement (NOT owner handled).

Hey Karen,

It was great seeing you this weekend. Looks like you Cloe are in the groove. Congrats on the placements, she is a great looking dog. Good luck on the rest of the spring. You should have a ball with her.

What a season!

5 trials, 6 placements and FINALLY the elusive BLUE!!

We attended the Delval Brittany Club's trial held at the English Setter Club of America's grounds in Medford, NJ this past weekend. Chloe was 3rd in the AGD and WON the OGD (3 or 4 points...not sure if there were 17 or 18 starters). She just gets better and better every time she's on the ground, I don't want the season to end!

Sounds like a great spring but remember as you get older you need time off to rest   I have gotten to the place where I start slow and drop off fast.

Congrats Karen.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Thanks Ezzy....yes, I know. We need to rest & recharge, and my husband will divorce me if I keep him from his sailboat for much longer :D :D

One last trial, then weekends on the lake.

Congrats Karen. If it wasn't for make up lacrosse games I would have made it out to catch the run. You have a great little dog there. Don't worry the fall will be here before you know it. It's time for a little R and R. Plenty of time to sail around the world. :D :D

This weekend we headed up to Lost Pond in Oxford, NY for the Hudson Valley Brittany Club's trial, and came home with another BLUE ribbon! Chloe won the OLGD stake today (18 starters) and is now sitting at 8 points toward her FC.

Her little sister Rosie, owned by mm on this forum, won the AGD stake yesterday....so it was a family affair for sure. Congratulations Mario!
