Wee bit of a brag

Post by AHGSP » Mon Mar 20, 2006 11:28 am

Had Dalin and Bella at the Mason Dixon GSP Club Hunt Test this past weekend running JH and had a great time.

Bella (Martha "Calamity Jane" WVSD X Raines Dauernd der Hund WVKS) had a tough time of the switching winds in the field Saturday and couldn't nail down a bird, but I had Jen run her Sunday in her first event as a handler and she qualified her with a 33.5 score and 4 solid, stylish points. I could see Jens smile from 100 yds. coming out of the field! SUCCESS, we have a new Junkie!!

Dalin (Gambles's Rip-N-Logan X Snips Spice Girl) scored 34 on Sat. and 39 on Sun for 2 legs to his JH. Can't say enough about this kid! When we got within 300 yds. of the bird field Sunday, he was gone, same as Saturday! I told the Judge that he is up in the field on point waiting for us and the Judge told me "that would be very good for you and him" with somewhat of a chuckle. Sure enough, when we got there several minutes later, he was locked up and gave me one of those over the shoulder "Hurry Up Already" looks. Within 2 minutes the Judges told me "Handler, collar your dog before that machine clears the whole field"! 4 beautiful, stylish points in 2 minutes!! When I told the Judge he is 6 months old, he rocked back in the saddle and said "Holy ####, we'll see you in the Master Field next Spring"!

Was a great weekend at a great event with lots of great folks and I couldn't be prouder of my wife, Jen, for having a great time and taking the plunge. She has said that she would like to run Bella next weekend at Oak Ridge Pointing Dog Club's Test!
