Sorry Denise....it was a good subject heading so I had to borrow from you. Got Cutlass out for our first test of any kind, he is my first dog so I was nervous coming in having not done any trials or tests before. We started with the field, this was the section I was actually most nervous about since quail were being used, and he has caught birds in the past and it knocked back the quality of his pointing...and of course we start with our backs to the wind and he flushes one up right away and catches it....doh. Fortunately he got back to the program and ended up finding 5 more birds all with points, whew.
Track was next and he has done well in his tracking so I wasn't too worried but you never know. We got to the waiting spot when they let the pheasant go....and it flew away....now we have to wait while they grab another. Well if you know Cutlass, you know he is getting antsy and is raring to go, so I just keep him as calm as I can. Walk over to the feather pile, off he goes with his nose to the ground, pointed the bird, bird moved he tracks some more and points again and then catches it....sweet.
Finished up with the water, no issues there, wasn't worried about this area too much. Wait while the pouring rain comes down under the tent for the scores...he got a 112

There was one other 112, and a total of 4 prize I's for the day. I knew he could do it, but it is just nice to get er done.
