First Cover Dog Trial

Post by Grange » Mon Mar 29, 2010 1:27 pm

My english setter pup, Tico, and I entered our first cover dog trial this past weekend. Tico did well enough to earn 1st place in the Open Puppy.

Congrats Grange! Do you know the other placements for the weekend? Moving the pup up to Derby now? I bet you would do well! Maybe we will meet you on the 11th at the club trial. Congrats on your placement!

I know Scott Anderson won the Am. Shooting Dog with a setter, but don't know which one. I was told that was his third Didcot Classic win in a row. I believe Bruce Minard's dogs swept the Open Derby. I also think Bruce took third in the Open Puppy with a setter named susie and Erwin (I forgot his first name) took second with Snoop but honestly I was too busy enjoying the win with my pup to pay a lot of attention. Ben Mergen's dog Paige won the Am. Derby. I walked that brace and that dog had two finds (one woodcock and one grouse) and had a good run.
