A whale of a weekend...
Temps in the single digits,3-4 inches of snow..... Sounds like a great weekend for a walking trial!!!!!!!! So it was horribly cold this weekend at Branched Oak near Lincoln Nebraska, but fun was had. I ran in four stakes and received 3 placements.
Saturday:
By puppy Reno in his first field trial ever went out and surpirsed me with a VERY well deserved 2nd place in the open puppy stake.
Next was my gundog who ran the best course she had ever ran, 1st bird a walking bird handled great, 2nd bird alil flopper bird that flop about 2 feet in front of her handled great, 3rd bird she scooped!!!! O'well there's always next time...
Dixie who has been my superstar ran without a bracemate in the Amateur Derby and ran okay but not great and received a third out of 13, there were alot of really nice young dogs.
Sunday:
Dixie ran in the Open Derby and did her thing and WON!!!!!!!!! Giving her 3 open points at 14 months of age.
So I brought home a 3rd,2nd, and a 1st...I was really glad when I got that Blue!!!
Had a great time it just could've been alil warmer.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!
Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Rob, congrats on the big weekend. Still want to come out this fall. My mom past away last Oct and i just couldn't get it together in time. I did get to Courtland in mid Dec for 3 days but it wasn't the same without my dogs . keep up the good work with the dogs. Tony

Tony sorry to hear about your mother. I'm going try to get a sweet chicken spot lined up this year for ya when you get up here. Got another ranch I've got a lead on its only about 10,000 acres in the heart of chicken country!!!!
Sounds like you've had a pretty good spring with your dog as well...
