Post by Don » Sat Sep 15, 2007 3:56 pm

Well picked up the second pup today. Not sure which my one my son will get. Also go the pedigrees on Squirt and him.

Squirt: 9x back to Sunrise, 3x to Hicks Rising Son. Add Brannigan, Destinare,

New pup: Tommy B grandson, 3x to Sunrise, 2x to Hicks Rising Sun, Destinare, The Preformer, Tomoka, Fair Play and Johnny Crockett thru Crocketts New Horizon and Deep Freeze.

Here's the pup:

I think you should keep Squirt. Just a gut feeling.

I think I'm leaning that way too. Squirt kinda grows on ya. But both have pedigrees that read like the who's who of the setter world.

I kind of like Squirt. Something about his face that I really like.

What kennel are they from?

Squirt for 2 reasons

1) I think squirts cuter but dont get me wrong they are both great looking.

2) You know squirt better and you and him are atached

After a day with the new pup, I think you guys might be right. Squirt is more independent, the new pup goes anywhere I go. Don't get me wrong, the new pup is plenty bold just more dependent on me. Squirt never was. But he does learn fast and is bidable. Squirt gave to his check cord faster.

Both pups have decided that the best place to sleep when I'm on this thing, is under the chair. In the truck, Squirt rides next to me his head on my lap. He sucks up with the best of them! :D He's also a bit more agressive than the new one. Hate to use that word for fear it'll be miss interperted. I think he'll be less likely to come running to dad it he gets snagged in the field, I might be wrong there.

You'll have to excuse me, they just tore the trim off the front door!

Don,

Another nice looking puppy. I would suggest you let your son name the new one.

I'm going to. Otherwise I might get attached. Squirt is twice his size and plays a bit ruff. The pup slept with me and Otis last night. worked out great!

Son is supposed to be here Sunday. Will be glad when he can take it home. Nice little guy and I really don't want attached. By the way, Squirt pointed his first time yesterday. Looked great but it was a hot spot.
was walking him in the top pasture and saw two doves lift off, so did Squirt. On the way by, the little snot goes on point and looked good too. Feathers and fresh poop! Tried to move him off and had to pick him up and move him. He went back over and did it again, not so sure this time tho. But he did finally go on about his business. Gettin to be and independent little fart!

Barr Lee. Little guy from Central Ore. Wouldn't have got them but he has great breeding. The new pup is a Tommy D grandson, in Robenson's string and Ames Qualifier last year. From there both these pup's are laced with hall of fame dogs. Sunrise, Brainngan, The Performer. Pinnacle, Tomoka, Hicks Rising Sun, even a bit of Johnny Crockett thru New Horizon and Deep Freeze. Sunrise shows five times in the new one as close as third gen. Oh, here's Destinare too. 4th gen. Squirt has Sunrise four times in three gen and Hick's Rising Sun twice. In five gens shows Sunrise 10 times, Hicks Rising Sun four times. I thought Double dog Dare was there but he's not. How this guy ended up with these dogs is beyond me. The only place anyone knows him is in Central Ore!
