I have got to traps, but am not having good luck. They are both single door entry traps, is a double better? help me out.

If you have a place to set them out that has pigeons, you can catch them.

Try putting the trap in place with the bobs tied up. Put feed and water in the trap. Let them use it till you know they are going in and out.

Then let some bobs down but leave enough tied up so that they can still get in and out. Again, let them use it for a while.

Then, let all the bobs down and go back and collect your pigeons.

If you need them regularly, you can tie the bobs back up and continue to feed them.

Best regards, Greg J.

Now that makes sence. I never had luck with traps either, I netted in barns, old buildings ect. But I have two coop's and prolific birds. Haven't had to worry about training birds for about 20 yrs.

I guess I'm a bit more "hillbilly" than Greg. I enjoy the night time, "under the bridge" option better.

1) Grab a spotlight, fishing net, broom handle, roll of duct tape, and a cage/box
2) Tape the broom handle to the fishing net handle to get some extra reach
3) After sunset, go find some bridges where pigeons can/will roost
4) Shine the pigeons on their roost (1 Mill+ candlepower helps ;) ) and scoop 'em in the net while they sit there dumbfounded
5) Toss 'em in the cage/box in back of the truck and head to the next bridge

It's a hoot if you've never done it before. I have a pigeon trap, but I'm not patient enough to actually do what Greg recommends, and it's so much fun netting 'em that I'd rather do that anyway. :D

Give it a shot and let us know how it works for ya.

I've done it that way too and like it.

They wise up pretty quick so you might want to have several locations to trap them at. It can try your patience!...........markerdown

That's how I always did it. However replace the bridge with a silo. If you don't like heights it won't be for you tho. However with 2 guys you can catch 20+ pigeons oer silo.
