Sheesh, he's 9 weeks old - I wouldn't worry about it and personally wouldn't risk having a bad experience with a bird. He'll be the perfect age come late summer and into hunting season to get him out on the real deal and you live in a great state to find plenty of birds. Don't mess with the domestic birds IMO - not that ya' asked!! :)

thanks for tha advice guys. Im going to get him out on some grouse and such this summer and after snake breaking him I'll let him chase a few chucker along the John Day. He's a neat little guy and so far has proven to be one of the smartest dogs I 've ever had. Potty training is comming along way better than any dog Ive ever had. he is so much better than the labs Ive had. Im diggin these GSP's

At that age the more things she points the better.

Good looking pup, Stump. I get excited whenever my pup points anything at all. We are starting to get a lot of butterflies and he points every one he sees.
