It might help to describe the “type” of dog he or she is looking for. There is a wide range of possibilities within the breed. Generally speaking, on the ends of the spectrum there are comparatively smaller, lighter footed, faster, trial bred dogs that can eat up big chunks of chukar country, and there are heavier built dogs that are better swimmers, trackers and retrievers that are more NAVHDA oriented.

As stated above. What type of GSP in terms of range and use. Additionally will it be a house dog or kennel dog? I have one that was bred from kennel stock and one that was bred from house raised stock. You can tell which is which without asking when you meet them. I do keep both in the house but one needs a lot more exercise to go to sleep on the couch.

Also where is he located in the west? The GSP is a popular enough breed that you can generally find a breeder that meets what you want in a dog. It is a long way to drive from Tucson to Seattle even though both are in the west.
