Gun Dog Forum

Hi everyone, been looking for a dog forum like this and am so happy to join you all. Currently in the Marines and stationed in Okinawa right now. A family out here had a gorgeous Weimaraner that was 8 months old and I think they were on over their heads because they were trying to get rid of him. I saw and had to get him! He was wild and you could see they were overwhelmed but I knew he just needed what any dog needs. After the first night with him I got him to learn sit and down positions with just using my hands and not having to say anything!!! These dogs are so smart.

I can’t wait to get back to U.S. with him to see him run some fields. I’m the mean time I plan on reading and learning from you all on this forum and start practicing with him while here.

I wish you and your Pup a great fall hunting season.

Is there some pheasant hunting anywhere near where you are now? I have seen a hunter post some video of hunting pheasants in Japan but I am not sure where he was.

Hahaha I wish, I’m actually on Okinawa a small island 300 or so miles south of mainland Japan. I do know you can hunt birds there though.
