new member in PA

Post by boon hogganbeck » Wed Jul 01, 2020 3:45 pm

Hello, I’m checking out the site as I’m training my first bird dog, a 6 month old English setter. Plan to hunt grouse, woodcock, and pheasants in central PA (where I work) and WV (where I’m from). My grandpa raised a long string of setters for WV grouse, and now that I’m working at home due to corona, I figured I’d use the free time to get started. A friend has been helping me train the pup on pigeons & the dog is coming along nicely.

West Nile has been hard on grouse here, but I did run into a couple drumming birds this spring.
