Dog Door Height

Post by RatDog » Tue Jun 09, 2020 9:30 pm

Directions say to measure from the ground to dog belly and this will determine height to place the dog, should be between 6”-12” high.

I have a male Brittany or average size. He’s a little less than a year but should be between 40-50 pounds. He’s at the trainer so I asked the breeder to measure mom’s belly height and he said at the chest she’s 12” off ground. This seems high? How high have you guys put yours? Thanks!

The open part of my dog door(whole dog door) is 17 inches high- used by some medium - sized dogs.

Is that from the floor to the bottom of the dog door? That’s the measurement I’m trying to figure out. Thanks so much for the response!

I think it’s gonna be pretty slick. I still have to put in the rest of the fence out back and a shade awning. As well as the dog door of course.

Looks good! I had a similar set up at my last house and loved it. Nice to be able to feed them in the garage when the weather isn’t cooperating.
