Hello
Hello
Hello,
I just wanted to drop in and say hello, I've been lurking around here for a few years but I finally decided to register a few months back but with quail season wide open I haven't had much time to do a proper intro.
I've been hunting and fooling with dogs for 30 years, finally about 10 years ago I fooled someone into paying me for doing what I'd be doing anyway . Seriously though, this makes 10 years since I started guiding quail and duck hunts with a little pheasant here and there as well as training dogs for a living.
I'm hoping maybe I can learn a little something and possibly help a little too, I don't claim to be an expert by any means but I've made enough mistakes along the way that I know what not to do!
As far as dogs, I have a lab named Decoy that will be 4 this year, he's not only my flush dog and retriever, he's my best bud. I don't leave home without him, if you see me, you will see him. I've owned a handful of labs, hunted quite a few and trained a bunch, he's a pretty special dog. He does things sometimes that I wish I could take the credit for, he's made me look good quite a few times. I don't think he cares who gets the credit, as long as he doesn't have to miss a meal and gets his ears rubbed, he's happy.
I've got 2 GSP's a 6 year old named Maxx, a 1.5 year old named Dan, a 3 year old pointer named COPPER and lastly my 10 year old daughter has a little 16 week old Llewellin named Covey.

Welcome aboard.
Another perspective, additional knowledge and experience can only make this board a better place for folks to enjoy their dogs to the fullest.

I'm always looking for ways to refine, compliment and improve. On one hand, I do think there is some truth to the, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school of thought but I also believe that the day you stop learning and improving you should probably give it up.
