My Favorite Christmas Present In Years

Post by NEhomer » Wed Jan 01, 2020 7:19 pm

My bird hunting buddy is a master sign-crafter and artist. He stopped by with this oil he painted of my setter Whip. I'm beyond pleased; he really captured that look.

The picture does it little justice. The texture of the oils adds a great deal.

Wow. That's a talented artist.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Phil, the fellow who painted it is Whip's second favorite person on earth because we do the bulk of his hunting with Phil. If I even mention his name it's like saying "Bird" and he gets crazy excited. I keep him from jumping up on guests but he knows that it's different with Phil cause he lets Whip absolutely maul him. When I pick Phil up for hunting, he can barely get into the truck cab 'cause he gets attacked!

The point of that is that the painting truly came from the heart as Phil loves Whip right back and he said he was so thrilled to paint his favorite bird dog.

I will indeed cherish it for years to come.
