Mud river dog bed worth the money?

We have a GSP that loves to sit and suck on her bed but really she must grind her mouth on it and eventually tears through cheap dog beds. I need to replace it and I like the looks of the mud river dog beds. Is it worth the money for a living room dog bed?

We have one (that I got on sale) and the dogs seem to like it. The sides are a nice canvas that seems durable enough. The top is a fleece that also seems fairly tough but I'm not sure if it would hold up to a dog that was intent on tearing it up. That said, we've had ours for 3 years and it still looks good and gets plenty of use.

They didn't last with us. Within a few months, the corners were ripped. Now they are all chewed/ripped up & we need to find a replacement. :(

Nope,

I loved mine to start with, fast forward 2 months - holes in all the fleece - wish it was canvas throughout. It sure looked nice to start with though.

I LOVE these. I have yet to have one torn up. They are only in the crates though. Don't know why they wouldn't work in the living room.

My Brittany does the same thing. Dog beds, jackets, shirts, towels and blankets. And even destroyed the arm rests in the couch.
No more beds for him and I have to always keep an eye on him.

Never uses the mud river bed. Used the Kong crate pads and he had holes in it after the first night.

If you want to spend money on a bed get an Orvis Tough Chew. They are tough as heck and Orvis stands behind their stuff better than anybody

I wish I could find the duck material like carhartts and make one for her out of that.

Thanks for all the input! I think I'll save my money for now.

Go to a canvas shop and have them make one for you.

Never had a dog bed/pad my female GSP didn't tear up.

She is 3 years old and still tears them up.

She now sleeps in a hard bare bottom crate. Makes me feel bad

Carhartt sells dog beds now. I bought two of them. They lasted longer than the Mud River, but the zipper broke on one in year 2 and the dog chewed a hole in the other year 3. They are stuffed with discards (long strips of material) from the "coat making" process.

I only have experience with the Mud River kennel pad. It seems to be of good construction. He hasn't chewed holes in it yet. I would assume the dog beds are of the same quality as the rest of their products, but if a dog is intent on chewing through it there isn't very many materials that will have any sort of longevity.

Go online and order some 1000 denier cordura remnants and some foam packing peanuts from the ups store and you will be able to sew up a few pretty low cost pads. I also added some cedar shavings. These are the only ones that my dog has not destroyed.

Has anyone tried the Duluth fire hose beds?
