Hello,

I have a couple of young pointers in transit from The east coast. They are supposed to be delivered 7-3-15 at 10pm. The dogs have been holed up for 8 days.

Is that to long?

How "holed up" are they? Eight days in a crate is a long dang time for any critter. But eight days in a crate with a couple bathroom breaks, time to stretch their legs, water and food isn't too bad.

Question... why the ground transportation instead of air?

When properly cared for, dogs spend weeks on a pro's truck or trailer. That long without some exercise is not ideal, but not sure what you can do about. It is already done.

Many/most airlines will not accept dogs in the heat of Summer, those that do, many will only do so on direct flights.

It would not work by air and I want these dogs! That or drive there myself?
$600 to transport both dogs.

It's a long time and stressful for the dogs , but I assume they will be aired regularly , watered etc.
