Beshear dogs?
I have a bitch whose sire was out of a beshear dog(Beshear's checker's chip). I haven't heard much or can I find much on the web about them or even where they were from. If anyone has any beshear dogs or any info or pedigrees I would be really interested in hearing about it. Thanks in advance....

No info out there? Anyone even heard of a Beshear. Maybe Elmer Beshear?

ACooper, what led you to that? Not many AKC titles? Should I be asking on a different forum?ACooper wrote:Seems like he competed or competes in NSTRA?

Re: Beshear dogs?
You can ask on different forums but none has the members or participation as GDF.I have never seen Beshear before or heard of him.Must have been in the past & maybe no longer active.
We can't help if we don't know.
Good luck with your search.

I can't imagine there'd be too many folks breeding GSPs with that exact same last name, so that's where I'd start.rselliott725 wrote:No info out there? Anyone even heard of a Beshear. Maybe Elmer Beshear?

edit: Not sure if my link works now, but it did a second ago, and had the phone # for him in 2011. I'm guessing that's where you saw it too, and have the info.
Found the page again.
I just wanted to pass along some information on a couple of litters from Lily's breeder. Elmer Beshear has two litters of German Shorthair Pointer pups - turning 7-wks and 8-wks old this week. Those interested in bloodlines will recognize the following champion lines: Moesgaards, Wolfwiese, Tip Top Timber and Dixieland's Rusty. Various colors including black and white! Mr. Beshear can be reached at 972-977-1375 during the day.
Lily has had a birdy willingness from the day we picked her up and is beginning triple retrieves at just over a year - so if she's any indication, the potential is in the genetics!

Thanks! That at least gives me a number to start from. I just wanted to know a little more about his foundation dogs. My bitch is really turning out well and wanted to have a little history when we breed her. Thanks.

Re: Beshear dogs?
This is my first post here and hits home as I have a bitch directly from Beshear. He is a retired Ag teacher just northeast of Dallas that breeds a couple of times a year. My Beshear Lily Tiger is a black and white that will turn 4 this April - my second dog that I've trained myself. She is very birdy but prefers quail to ducks - although we're working on getting her more excited about that. I know two people that claim his dogs are on the softer side and found Lily to be also, although I've taken my time with her training. I started running NSTRA in the Lone Star chapter just this past fall. In her first brace Lily was paired up with Dale Heaton ' s regional champion ES Macy. She had 3 finds for a 635 and came in just behind Macy's 685 - we're both still learning the game, but enjoying it tremendously. I also took her up to Arkansas for one of Glen Cumby's NSTRA Amateurs - only 1 find but she got her first "official" back. I started a blog at GunDogAdventures and will be adding a link to GDF soon. I'll also be posting Lily's pedigree that I've been researching. Looking back past the most recent dogs, I've noted 35 Hall of Fame dogs. I'm impressed with her enough that I'm beginning the search for a stud now and will certainly seek all of your input for suggestions. Glad to join the conversations here!!
