Garmin Astro Users

Post by reddogz09 » Sat Sep 21, 2013 3:30 pm

New owner of a Astro 320 DC40 combo. How does everyone use their collars and reecivers? What is the easiest way to use it for my big running dog while hunting? Do you use any of the topo map or birdseye options for yours? I have had my dogs out with it on with the basic setting just following their track, but I want to use this to its full potential. Are there any sites online that help with making them easy to use?

Thanks in advance.

While hunting I keep it on the compass most of the time. The handheld is set to tone and vibrate on point.
You need to put it somewhere that you can hear it and get to it easily, but cant loose it.

I don't find that the birdseye was much help.

Basically, I use it to tell me where my dogs are, and if they area on point.
