My boy Remington (we call him Remy) just turned a year old a bit more than a week ago. This season will be his (and mine) first hunting season. We got him from PM Weims in Montana. I can't say enough great things about Dawna and her pups.
Cheers,
Greg

Forgot I had this pic of Remy on my phone. Definitely one of my faves:
That photo was taken during the spring thaw. He lost a little puppy chub and bulked up a bit after training with Ed at Autumn Breeze Kennel for 7 weeks. I do like this picture.
Cheers,
Greg

This is my little GSP Charipars Miss Farnaby JH. Hopefully this spring, with a lot of help from my friends, we will try our hand at the field trial game. She has wheels like you wouldn't believe and will stand a bird for forever.

Re: Let's see the pictures of your dogs!
Hey Tooling nice looking pup,I was the breeder of your pups mother Dixie.John bought her from me as a pup & liked her so much he also bought the last 2 males I had from that litter.
The owner of FC/AFC Hoosier LB also is a member of GDF.Good luck with him, should make you a fine bird dog.Good to see some of the youngins from my dogs lookin like I would hope & expect.
I see you are carrying a ML Shotgun,I would be careful shooting it over a young dog they put out a lot more percussion then a modern Sh G & might frighten a young dog.I've seen it happen with an older dog that been shot over many times
& loved to retrieve but after a few shots of my friends ML did not want to leave our side.

Very Cool...to tell you the truth I just assumed Vivid Dixie came out of Dunfur Kennels out in Wa. State (Dan Hoke)...I knew Dan many years ago and Dan sold me my first GSP at the age of twenty which was also the very first dog I ever bought as my own..we've had nothing but Shorthairs since..Dan was a very kind man and just a cool guy as well as a very good trainer...he had a rather no nonsense approach. He has since become rather accomplished which is no surprise to me at all..I seem to remember him talking up Chukar Mountain Mort when I spent some time w/him...as you can see in the pedigree CMM's offspring Morticia made it to the HOF...very impressive.Vonzeppelinkennels wrote:Hey Tooling nice looking pup,I was the breeder of your pups mother Dixie.John bought her from me as a pup & liked her so much he also bought the last 2 males I had from that litter.

In the pic of pups first real point that is a very kind gentlemen friend of mine carrying his favorite Parker. We did actually shoot that bird but pup was 60+ yards away...pups reaction? Eyes on the bird tugging on the lead and ears perked..he made a b-line to the bird upon release and snatched it right up then paraded about as proud as could be...lol Gun shy...nope! We eased him into it and gun shy does not even seem to be a part of any equation whatsoever. (I shoot a double as well..Merkel) As a breeder in my dogs line I will tell you that John Prince is a class act and your pup fell into good hands..this pup I got from him has proven to be one serious bird dog and an extraordinarily even tempered and just straight up good boy in the house and anywhere else we go. Bold could hardly describe him but with a calm and methodical mind as maturity seems to be revealing. Birds try his patience as his prey drive is way high...he wants birds D.E.D.!!! He is ready 24/7 anytime/any place and that is no exaggeration. I am nowhere near the trainer that could bring this pup to full potential but I work very hard at it and he gets gobs and gobs of birds..he's being FF'd right now and the pickup off the ground was a little difficult but we have gotten past that and are at fetch-no-fetch which he picked up immediately but we're going to spend a few days on before the pile to be sure. He really is a fantastic dog and is as healthy as can be as he received a checkup yesterday. Silent in his kennel and left out to roam the house at home alone..not a problem at all. He's 50 lbs. on the nose and fast...Vivid Dixie is 45 lbs and sire is 55 so there you go...there's some info on your breeding lineage for you
Here's a pic of pup w/his prize minutes after his first point.
2nd pic is of our first dog that I got from Dan Hoke in Wa. His name was Deputy Dog and we miss him every single day!!

Re: Let's see the pictures of your dogs!
Tooling you can see the 2 male littermates of Dixie on John's testimonial page if your interested 2008 Tank owned by Jeff Rieck & right underneath Jake owned by Murry Hardesty.
John tried everything he could to get Tank away from Jeff but couldn't get it done.He wanted him for a stud dog.
Your dog is carrying the style I have tried to keep here in my kennel, seems to be working so far.
I have a litter coming the first wk of Oct if you have anyone looking maybe another in NOV. not that I want 2 litters at a time but time is running out on my FC Von Zeppelins Distant Star so really have no choice.
I like your pup a lot have fun & enjoy it goes fast!!

This is as close as I've ever come to owning a Gordon but this one is special.Gordon Guy wrote:What's with all the shorthairs??.....
Gordon's don't get turned loose without a huddle! Not the same dog. The boss say's, "that way". The dog say's," ya mean out there"? Team work!
Getting a new pup soon, well be ready about the middle of Dec. Stay tuned for update's!
Re: Let's see the pictures of your dogs!
Springers sure aren't horrible looking on birds!!
VonZ...thank you for your response on my pix and sharing the info..that is precisely why I posted his pedigree (perhaps obnoxiously)...to maybe find his kin on the board...go back a ways and their virtually all related somehow or another. Also thank you for the well wishes w/my pup...we're thrilled with him and John helped me select based on certain attributes I was looking for...he did right by us for sure. Actually am thinking of another pup but likely waiting until the spring..JP's Snake Eyed Romeo and his sister are a fine looking pair of dogs...those high heads are awful nice. I am trying like heck to put a trip together out to SD to put pup on Pheasants in the fall and if it works out am hoping to maybe spend a day or two in KS w/John if he'll have me before heading North. Somewhere or another I have read about Tank and the story of John trying to get him back...maybe on a board or something..I dunno'...Tank certainly is a fine looking specimen and sounds as if he is one heck of a dog. Sorry to OP for a bit of a hijack...I hope pics keep coming as bird dogs at home and in action are just awesome
Cheers Gordon Guy...lol
