Puppy intro to 2yr old GSP female

Post by ATXgsp0311 » Sun Jul 14, 2013 9:36 pm

My wife and I brought home a liver and white GSP female yesterday. Been raising a now 2yr old female. After a solid 24hrs of avoidance and posturing, they had quite a play this evening. The older is still figuring out how to be gentle and whether she wants to mother or be a friend (never had a litter). Still very possessive of food bowl and bed as we expected, so we keep the pup away in respect of her personal space.
My 2yr old is our first dog to raise from a pup on our own so this is also our first introduction of a pup. Any experience or advice would be very much appreciated!

So long as she doesn't get to rough, let them work it out on their own.

As mentioned, the older will let the pup know where it stands. Keep an eye on them but after a while they will be just fine and they will work it out themselves.
