Favorite Dog names, Whats yours?

I'll be getting a Brittany in a few months and the list of names I would consider is starting to add up, It got me to thinking what my favorite Dog names I've heard are. So what are your favorite dog names you've heard, doesn't matter if its yours or not! In fact some of the funniest names I've heard I could never name my dog as I could probably never be able to say it with a straight face.
I think my favorite name for a dog was what I named my lab, she passed a way recently and I still miss her like crazy. I got her from the shelter so I thought it would be fitting to name her Kona, which in Hawaiian means change of direction!

My lab is named banks, just original
i almost named him Apollo

But i think Orion is probably my favorite, maybe Ryan or Rie for short.
Orion is a constellation and in a hunter in Greek Mythology
i guess the thought of "Great Hunter" is a good name for a hunting dog
Isaac and Banks

One of my favorites is a friend's heeler named "Larry" and it fits him to a "t". I currently have a heeler named "Danzig" and my avatar setter "Gertie". Gert's registered name is "Prairie Star" after one of my favorite wildflowers. In keeping with the wildflower theme the next pup's registered name will be "Desert Firewheel" and her call name will be "Wheels". I also know a French bulldog named "Chicken" and I love that name for him too.

There are some pretty clever registered names out there. A couple recently that I think are pretty cool are "Notta Snowball’s Chance" and "Slo White Guy"

Nimrod is probably near the top of the list. Its an old testament biblical name, but still cracked me up every time I heard it called out loud. Maybe it was the timing and context.

I currently own 3 dogs with names that seem to be pretty entertaining to most folks when they hear them: Waterybutts Imus in the morning (Mus), Waterybutts Waterloo (Lu Lu), and DT Dixieland Shameless Super Pete (Petey).

I know it isnt an original name, but Max is a very powerful male name and I love it. But, you only get to use it once. I never name a dog with the same name of a deceased dog. It is bad Mojo.

Hey that a good one. Mojo

My 1st britt's call name was Boz, named for Brian Bosworth(an Okie linebacker) that destroyed us in a football game along time ago :( This is probably my favorite dog name.

The pointer people used to have a pretty good pointer named Guard Rail---so I decided the Brittany world needed a dog named after something on the road to counter the pointer people, so I used the registered name of Speed Bump(Bumper, call name)---he lived up to his registered name a different way---He was real fast bumping birds

Penny is my favorite female name---I've used it on 6 females--at this time Penny4, Penny5, and Penny6 are alive. My other female, Star, will also answer to Penny, since I call her accidentally by that name alot

I frequently get told that Turbo is the perfect name for one of mine.

I'm partial to the name Sage, and will be naming my next pointer Milo.

Names are always interesting but really are just something to identify the dog. My only personal hangup is I want the registered name and the call name to be connected somehow. So my two are Rush to Excellence--Rush and Time's A Wasting--Time

My GSP is Abbe Lane's Prince of Darkness--call name Ozzy. I just hate when people spell it Ozzie because that's so less bad : )

One of the guys in my NAVHDA chapter has the coolest Viszla I've ever seen, named Izzo, which needs no explanation if you're a Michigan State fan.

Naming a new dog after another, especially a recently passed away one, is not a good idea. The new dog needs to make her own way in your life, and you need to recognize her as herself. Try "Link" instead. imo.

yeah I don't name my dogs the same thing, still workin on what I want for my upcoming pup. Unfortunately all the names I really like my friends either just got pups and used one of the names or there's already been a dog with that name in my family.

I had a buddy that named his dog "U2".
He had two dogs at the time. He didn't name the second dog for while after owning him so after a while he'd call the first dog then he just say and U2 to get the other pup to come. It just kind of stuck.

I like Chase, Jake, Lou, Sam, and Moe for some of my males. Gabby, Easy, Gracie, Penny, Jewel, and Passion for a few of my females. I had a buddy who named his lab Dirtbag and also used it as a call name in the field.
