International Shipping
Just wondering if we had anyone on that has ever shipped to Korea? Sounds pretty crazy. My vet said he was not interested, a lot of extra paperwork and timing of stuff.

Re: International Shipping
The dog might be on the menu . On a more serious note, if my vet didn't want to help me I would find another vet.

Re: International Shipping
I am pretty happy with both my vets. Couldnt think of changing. I was told the last person he helped still owes $1000. He did say there are professional shippers that might be better at all the paperwork.

Re: International Shipping
I once shipped myself to Korea...... doubt I would put a dog through that..... course the dog would at least have the comfort of the cargo hold rather than coach surrounded be a million screaming Korean kids and 1 drunk air force pilot.....
A limit on the strap is nice, but the kill has nothing to do with tradition.
Re: International Shipping
I haven't shipped to Korea, but I shipped one to Japan (1998 litter, so it's been awhile). I had to go thru US dept of Agriculture plus it needed a rabies shot along with the other puppy shots, plus I think it needed to be 12 weeks old to ship it back then. I booked the flight myself(22 hours from when I gave it to the airlines until it got to Japan ). What the buyer didn't tell me was that the pup would be put in quarentine for 30 days when it got there. I won't ship overseas again. Back then then the pup and freight was $1000 total and the buyer told me it cost him $30 a day for the quarentine cost for another $900  . Good luck on gettin' it to korea, I'm sure it is going to be a pain

To me it was not worth the hassle and I wouldn't put another dog or myself through it. Cj

Re: International Shipping
Thank you for the information. Iam sure i can sell pups in the good ol USA but i received an email about a pup so i thought would ask. Didnt relize the pup would be stuck alone for another 30 days. I think i will have to pass on this but thanks again.
Re: International Shipping
I believe that Korea has a program that specifies the following so long as the animal is 90 days old:
- Successful microchip implantation, and rabies-neutralizing antibody level of 0.5IU/ml or higher (as stated in the quarantine certificate) ☞ 1 day (i.e. Released on the same day)
Re: International Shipping
Thats alot of stress on a pup. And i believe its the 3months now, not 30 days.
