lost my hunting buddy

wed night I was calling for my lab Tank to come in and he didn't so I went looking for him. We have the under ground fence and he had his collar on but I found him on tthe road he had been hit by a car.No one even stopped to tell us . he was 23 months old and had really started to come into him self in the field. He is my first bird dog and I trained him with the aid of a program my self . as a family we are crushed but we will get another dog our househole has to have a dog in it we are dog people .it is very hard to loose him he will be missed and loved forever RIP uncle sams mighty Tank. Hunt em up buddy

That is a terrible thing to have happen. I don't think I could ever trust one of those containment systems but that is just me.

Sorry for your loss, that is terrible. Someone could have stopped. Not to sound mean, but maybe you should invest in a property fence for your new dog. I wouldn't put a million bucks on them containment systems. Just sayin

Sorry for your loss. From your post Tank was a great family dog and really coming on as a hunter. It's always hard to lose a young dog, we lost one at 2 1/2, but you'll always have the memories of good times.
I will never understand stand how someone can hit a dog and keep going. Karma will catch up with them.

So sorry. It's devastating to lose them so suddenly. I have been in a similar situation and it still makes me teary eyed to think about it. May he hunt birds in the fields of heaven to his hearts content.
