Post by Byrdgirl » Sun Nov 25, 2012 8:30 pm

We've been hunting like crazy with our two gals the last week or so. Thought I'd share some pics of our adventures!

Here is our 9 month old GSP Luna staying steady through the shot

Very nice! What model camera do you shoot?

great pics. So when you hunt geese with the pointers, how often do you have to try to flush one of your decoys for him when he locks up on point?

I would also be interested in knowing your setup. My wife has a d3100 and a d90 that she uses for work. I take our older d70 to the woods with me and between us we have 7 different lenses. What editing program do you use?

The camera is a Nikon D7000. The first 7 pics were taken with a 70-300mm lens and the last one with a 12-24mm wide angle. For post processing I use Lightroom 4. But there is some super cool Nik software I plan on investing in. When I get home to my laptop I'll post a couple more pics. :)

My favorite ND farm...
Image

First the bad...after three days, the two year old....was out for 2 weeks

The old girl at 10 picked up the slack...

The 9 month old was a VERY pleasant surprise....

...and in the water

A fair year for game....but I am excited about this young dog. IF I don't screw up, should be a good one.

Some pictures from yesterday.

My pup Indy with the first find and Ace backing.
Image

The quail were way down in the bottom in front of Indy
Image

Ace turned the tables on a single and now Indy is backing.
Image

Image

Indy did a nice job backing, I made the dogs stand a long time waiting for my wife to get there.
Image

Much to my surprise I could see the hen quail in front of Ace
Image

Well Ace had to stand there for 15+ minutes while my wife got there. With the wind swirling he sometimes had no scent.

No, no, no, I pass on mergs... I live in merg city and by the time they get here they are nasty. I'll take a golf couse goose any day, or a shoe(Blue Bill), even a Bufflehead over a merg.

Doug,
I truly feel sorry for you. Such horrible places to hunt and run dogs. I sure hope you find better places to hunt. No one should be treated so poorly.
Beautiful pics as always.

Byrdgirl,

As usual, amazing pics. The pup sure is getting big. I have a new one that will be here next week. We have to get the dogs together and let them run. keep the pics coming.
