Pro Plan puppy and adult food.
Pro Plan puppy and adult food.
Hello to everyone, How many of you out there actually feed Pro Plan Dog Food? Is that a good food? Right now, my dog(Gsp)is 7wks old and I haven't picked her up yet but she is being fed loyall. I really don't think that is good food. She hasn't developed any allergies neither. What do you guys recommend? Thanks.

I don't always feed ProPlan, but when I do, I use Performance for all ages.
Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.

Pro Plan performance is for "all life stages". I have a litter of puppies on it right now.

Yes. It is a small enough bite to use from the beginning with weaned pups. Sometimes they have coupons on their website or Facebook page. It's the 37.5# bag with purple on the lable.rockyridge kennels wrote:Yes,aferrer30 wrote:Even when they are a puppy?

A lot of folks like Loyall. I have never fed it, so can't say, but see dogs fed and it and they look good. Are you worried about the way the puppy is looking now? Might be something other than food. Wormy often gives a fat belly hunched and skinny head and leg look.
If I feed pro plan to puppies, I use large breed puppy. Even if the breed is medium sized. I am a zealot on not feeding super high calorie foods to puppies.

Re: Pro Plan puppy and adult food.
We feed Pro Plan Performance to puppies that we are weaning, as well as pups and our adult dogs. We have been feeding it for about 4 years now and all of our pups/dogs have done well on it.
Re: Pro Plan puppy and adult food.
I also feed Performance to puppies. Only time I feed puppy is when I get free bags and then I mix it with Performance.
My dogs have done very well on Loyall and fed a PPP/Loyall mix for a long time but for some reason it has been hard very to find around here so have gone back to PPP.

I mix pro plan puppy with loyall for Kimber......... My pup is on pro plan puppy and I'm going to start mixing In loyall on Sunday when I pick him up.
Re: Pro Plan puppy and adult food.
I suspect that the breeders dogs are healthy and happy, in good condition or you wouldn't be putting your money out for a pup from their dogs. I also suspect that their dogs are being fed Loyall. What is it that would make you think it was not a good food?
PPP does very well for many people, including my own dog when I was feeding it. But there is nothing special about it when you compare it to the dozens of other feeds in the same category.

I am currently feeding our new puppy a mixture of Pro Plan Performance & Pro Plan Puppy with good results. We have feed our adult dogs Pro Plan Performance for the past ten years. All dogs are healthy & look great.

Re: Pro Plan puppy and adult food.
It stopped being free its a great food but for $45-50 I can feed her for 2.5 months. That's an extra 1.5 gun dog stakes lol.
She also does just as good on it even though I give her an extra cup a day. Stools are still the same. Was afraid they would be like they were when she was on euk.
