Porcine meat ??
Looking at Pride dog food. Their first ingredient is porcine meat. Never heard of it, the dealer said it was a mixture of chicken and pork. Anybody have comments .It was about 26/18 with about 2.5 max fiber.

When my cousin was 6years old some 44 years ago. He used to sit down at his German Shepard's bowl and eat the Gravy Train with a spoon slurping up the gravy and all  . He loved that stuff. He retired as a Marine.gmanksu wrote:I am just waiting for the first dog food to be produced with the first ingredient being bacon. When it comes out I am buying it and eating it like cereal

Dogs love pork in a kibble. When Back to Basics first came out I bought a small bag of the Pork formula which has pork fat and fresh organ meats plus the pork meal and my normally picky dog was jumping on me.
Too bad that food is $3lb.

I have used Pride for years. I use to switch from Orange Pride in the winter to Purina Dog Chow in the summer. Now I feed Orange Pride year round. It is the only dog food at a reasonable price that will keep my dogs up in the winter time when they are hunted hard. I have tried them all and it is the best for the money. If you hunt your dogs you won't go wrong using the Orange Pride. The lower priced Pride feeds have too much stool. Orange is their top quality food. It is better than the Green Diamond.
Cost $24 for a 50lb bag

Re: Porcine meat ??
For the past 3 or 4 months I have been using, Blue seal Feeds Naturals 26,. It is Pork meat. The dogs like it but every time I go to get my BBQ sauce I find it next to their bowls. It is 26/14. The dogs do well on it. It only cost $32.00 per 50 pound bag. Right now the exercise level is low we will see how they hold up in the conditioning to come and hunting. The only thing it is missing that I would like to see is the Omega3 and 6 and joint stuff. As I am not good at giving supplements for them or me.
Their stools are tight, small, and no gas.
Right now, I feed 1.5 cups for two of the Britts. 2.5 for another, and 4 cups for a GSP and Mercy the old girl GSP I have no Idea of how much she eats, maybe 2 cups.

Check out victor dog food if its available in your area. Been feeding it for a few months and have been very happy with it.
