That is a beautiful setter.

Nice looking dog. All you rerally need is a dog that's points till the bird is flushed, backs but is held by the collar when backing, retrieves and would be a good thing if it handled resaonablely well. Go watch a few trials, maybe you can go out with the judge.
I pity the man that has never been loved by a dog!

Yes, but after paying for school I can't afford it! So I guess we are going to try it outselves and hope for the best.

I can definitely see a resemblance! great looking dog! Mine will be 2 in April. I really like him. He has a great personality (he lives inside) and he is a nicely built setter and everyone says how good looking he is! His only flaw is he tends to outrun his tail when he runs in the open. I hope its his age and immaturity, but only time will tell. I got him to run AF walking trials, but without the tail action it looks like NSTRA might be his game. He pretty much ALWAYS points with a perfect tail.

Don"t think about it...do it. Good way to see where your dog is at. Got my 1 1/2 yr old male in his first trial coming up in 3 weeks. Things to consider: How is your dog around other dogs? How is your dog around ATV's or horses? Also, remember other competitors may do things to throw your dog off, such as hard calling their dog to come to where your dog may be on point so that they may get back points. Also, if you have not already done so, know the rules.
Have fun.
