Dog returning from trainer--Anything to be aware of?
Dog returning from trainer--Anything to be aware of?
Hey all...My dog has been at a pro for a month for some intense bird work and will be coming home very soon. Has anyone experienced anything problematic in their dog transitioning from kennel life back to living in the house? She is a 5 year old Britt, sweet and super obedient. I've never had problems with her going in the house and don't anticipate them either. Anything I can do to help her along other than jump right back into our normal routine?
Just wanted to get out in front of any potential pitfalls or trends to be aware of. She is a very adaptive dog and I'm not worried, but I get so much great information from everyone here that I thought I would throw it out. Trainer says she is doing great and is getting very sharp on her game--definitely looking forward to having her back. I miss that little squirt.
Thanks for looking all....happy hunting!
Eric

Just picked my boy up after 2 months...
No house issues
No behavior issues (he's actually better!)
Settled right back in to sleeping in my bed and my schedule
Good luck - you'll be fine.

Most dogs shouldn't have problems adjusting..You just need to know that you have to upkeep his/her new trained habits. I had seen and know people send their dogs to a pro and then upon returning the dog goes right back to his/her old habits because they knows they can get away with things. Good luck.

She will still be housebroke .She will also remember all the special things that the two of you did before.
