Your Dog's Nickname

Post by mcbosco » Sun Aug 07, 2011 5:03 pm

I know many like to view themselves as steely-eyed sportsmen & women but when no one is around and you are petting the dog in the family room, what is your favorite nickname?

Come on......

Turbo gets called turd sometimes...

I'm not big on nicknames. Usually their call name, or sometimes ratard.
I have English Pointers because they don't ever grow up either...

My Lab "Sooner" answers to "Boom" more often than anything. Another used alias is "Boom-Sooney"

"Cy" my pointer stud is either "Silas" or "Cy-dog"

One of my Brood mama's "Jenny" is called "Jen" or "Jen-Jen the Engine" due to her normally suped up hyper state of mind.

My other Brood female "Sam" gets called "Sammer Dammer" Get it?

"Clyde" my 3 yro Male is usually called "Clydester"

"Tabasco" is just a pup and him and the other 3 pups I have here really haven't donned their nicknames yet.

and finally, "Kacey" who was my 1st birddog & I lost this morning just 8 days short of her 15th birthday, was affectionately reffered to as "Kacey-Girl" or "Grr-Dog" because she would speak on command, and even when not commanded.

Foxy Roxy or Wigglebutt

Mostly call her by her name, but Brandi got a couple nicknames along the way.
Called her RooRoo when she was little...she's a mouthy girl
Pootie Poo/Pie...only used around the house & NEVER around fellow sportsmen
B...cause you know Brandi's just too long to say sometimes :D

My wife and I refer to Woody as "The Idiot". The old female Maddie is called "Gray Face".

The EP Rocks is "Boxer, Boxer"
The F Chessie is "Brown Nasty" the M is "Tackaroni"
Gator the GSP is "Gatorbait"
Lizzy the EP is "Lizbert"
and only one of the beagles has a nickname - Mr. P

"Shooter Bug". The bug is a drift from "gnat" as in "gnat brain". When he was younger, it was like he was ADHD.

I call my GWP Remy his full name (Remington) when he's in trouble
Otherwise, for some reason, I most affectionately refer to him as $HITface...don't know why.
Then there's Rem-bot. Sometimes I'll break into song (ala Styx, circa 1983) when we get to sneak away from the honey-do list for a day and go hunting: "Thankyou very much-o Mr. Rem-bot-o for helping escape just when I need to, Thank you!"

We called our old lab the Turd Burglar, cuz of his affinity for the litter box and pilfering the fresh steaming treats... The cat would just shake his head and roll it's eyes... I never called the cat anything cuz we were never on speaking terms... they are both gone now, and we call our new EP "Psyco" or the "Psyco puppy"
