I for one wouldn't mind seeing more pics! If I didn't own bird dogs, I'd sure as heck would own some of them. I think the Red Bones, Blue ticks, and the other coon breeds are BA dogs.

Nice pics sir! We run deer with Walkers, Beagles, and a few Blueticks. While i love seeing dogs on a perfect point, there is nothing more primal? than listening to the pines ring on a cold morning with the sounds of a hot race. I don't care if I see or shoot the deer(thats just the iceing) it's the sound of that pack that gets my blood going. Again nice pics.

Kind of giving the bird dogs a rest while the birds are sitting on nests. Been out running hounds with a friend. Them dogs don't point, but they are still amazing to watch what they can do.
Here are pics of what we caught on the last 2 races

I'm not sure if you can tell by the pics but on the other side of that tree is a 20 foot drop into a wide and deep creek and it is 6 feet high where that tree Y's off.

Awesome pics! I've always wanted a coon dog as well. Growing up my uncle always had a pack of them. Never made it out coon hunting with him as I was to young. By the time I was old enough to go he didn't have coon dogs anymore. :( He paid a lot of money for his dogs, I want to say one of the dogs was around $3k. Its amazing that an animal with that much intensity and drive can instantly shut it off when at home, speaking about my uncles dogs at least. When they were home I remember running around the yard playing with them and they were as gentle and loving as could be. He had one litter of pups and they might be the cutest pups that I've ever seen. Anyway, I'll shutup now, its just that his dogs are some of my first memories of dogs and probably where I got my love of dogs.

You've got to be kidding me..... what's the justification behind that?
After re checking the laws it is still OK to run coons wit hdogs. My old bud was mixed up, the senate added a law letting kids under age of 16 to tag along without a gun and no need for a permit to hunt.

I used to run them by Silver City Iowa. A bud has some hounds and we would go out and have a good time. Was over 20 years ago.

I thought so but I didn't want to say anything. Last week a guy from Iowa bought a buddy of mine's young nite ch male for some pretty descent money. It gets a little expensive buying a dog that's not for sale.
