Now there is a dog I remeber running back when I was playing with my Brits. He and Red Water Rex were two of the best I have seen.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

I think Rich is talking about 8 year old CH. Riggin's White Knight. The original Riggins White Knight won the National Championship in 1968 and Red Water Rex won in 1970 if I remember correctly.

That would be the one,,,,,,,,I am hoping somebody would have a dog of the early 80's that would be line breed RWK and some frozen juice left.

Yea I have talked with him,,,, he's pretty high on Sir Lancelot these days. Mostly has that currently bred about a hundred different ways.

If you hadn't talked with him already, I thought he might know someone with some straws from an early 80's dog that'd work for you. Good luck!

Rich,

Yeah, i talked with Hoyle a few years back and he told me if he could have collected from White Knight and Red Water Rex, he could have already retired, then he chuckled.

I'm not sure if they were capable of collecting back in the 70's, or if they could and just didn't do it.
He is very high on Sir Lancelot. I have seen the dog run a few times, and he's a nice, nice dog. I think he may take advantage some of Hoyle now. But, he's got a motor and he's nice. But, i'm not sure how he's producing. He's been bred a lot. Some folks are happy with what they get out of him, and then some are not.

Miller's Chief seemed to have plenty of White Knight in him. It was a few generations back, but the pedigree was pretty heavy White Knight.

I just don't know of anything up close to Whight Knight. It's been 40 years.

Thanks Brett,, yea I know its been awhile,,, what I was actually hoping for is somebody that line breed (inbreed) RWK or RWR up to the 80's or so and then collected. So at best you would see alot of it 4 generations back. The best I can find now is just once 5 to 6 generations back.

Millers Chief would be a good one,,,, I hear he threw some monster dogs. We had a litter out here 10 to 15 years ago that were 70lbs dogs and just as mean as could be,,,, but they were tough, ran all over the country and could find birds when others couldn't.

I could deal with the meanness,,, but ya get a softy scout like I got and they would have'em torn up hid'n under the trailer by noon time.

Not really unfortunately, although I can ask some of my sources here at home.

Take a look at my white dogs pedigree on top. I can post one generation further back later when
I have more time.

There was a guy named Tom Hopkins from Sumpter, SC that was doing some breeding to RWK back in the early 70s but that'd be, as someone already said, "like chasing a ghost".

Rich,

P.S. I wonder if you got ahold of Frank Thompson on Facebook if he might have some leads from his research materials to help you with your wild goose chase .... er .... research.

Hey, let us know if you find what you're looking for.

White Knight, Red Water Rex and Arkansas Ranger three way crosses were hard to beat. This is Hoyle Eaton's bread and butter and later Ferrel Millers, thousands of good gundogs go back to this also. Wasn't there Dunn's Fearless Bud frozen semen?

I keep tellin' him I've got the perfect All Age pug here, a performer and a producer, but he's got no vision for the future, can only see where he's been. Someday it'll be looked on as pure genius...cut loose one dog, carry two more in your pockets.

I'm pretty sure you can throw in Oklahoma Flush as well. I think Miller's Ladybird is off of him, maybe it's her dam.
