DNA Test for llewellins Only

Post by lawoodcocker » Sun Apr 11, 2010 8:43 pm

Just got my Llewellin a week ago. I was checking into registering her in the FDSB. They single out llewellins for DNA test. What gives? What is envolved?

If it's anything like the AKC DNA test, it's a matter of ordering a kit, taking a cheek swab, signing paperwork and mailing it in. It's really not that hard. No blood draw required.

FDSB requires that the parents be DNA'ed prior to any litter being enrolled or any puppy registered. Some Llewellin breeders are under sanctions with FDSB and pups from those kennels can not be registered.
