Pup had accident while sleeping
Pup had accident while sleeping
My pup is 6 months old and just had an accident on the couch while she was sleeping and we were in the kitchen eating dinner.
I was just wondering if this can be something serious. My brothers Lab had an accident a while ago while sleeping and the vet said it was most likely from the recent lymes treatment he was on.
So I am hoping that this is the case for Kona also. She just had he second lymes preventative on Friday.
I put a call in to the vet but she won't get back to me until tomorrow.
She is completely housebroken and rings the bells at the door when she wants to go out.
Could this be from any other problems? Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You must not have kids....

Ha ... No I don't but this is normal? This can happen because it was truely an "accident" and not with an underlying problem?
Re: Pup had accident while sleeping
Well of course it can
I am not saying that there isn't another problem but it can just be an accident. Your dog is still very much a puppy and a female from the sounds of it(always seem to have a bit less control). I wouldn't worry myself unless it happens more. If it keeps happening I would have her checked for an infection and go from there.
Maybe she was dreaming about crossing a stream or a waterfall

A urinary tract infection can cause that. If it keeps happening the next day or so even if it is a little leaking, get em checked, they will give an antibiotic and a few days good as new. If that is what it is.
The best part of training is seeing the light come on in your little prot'eg'e.

And this is why I never allow my dogs on the couch.
Hope everything is okay.
