If your name is not Tracy, Eisenhart or Kinkelaar, I give your chances of winning that trial the same as winning the lottery. Good luck to the little guys.

Everyone has the same chance. Dog+handler+best performance=winner. If the "little" guy didn't feel like he had a chance, he wouldn't have entered. Again, good luck to all. Looks like a great trial.

If Kinklaar gets a piece of this one with either Hanabell or Amazin, he is going to be hard to keep from winning dog and handler of the year, he is on a tear this fall, but this is the first time he has ran up against Mike and Luke this season. Both dogs are owned by a neighbor and friend, Dr. Morgan, who is also the breeder of the male.

They are both very nice dogs. I've seen them both run quite a few times. Watch Kate(Elhew Hannabell) at the Ozark which she won. That was one of the funnest hours i've ever watched. Dr. Morgan should be proud.

Shawn was at Cedartown earlier this year with Luke and Mike. But that is a totally different type of trial than this.

How many braces per day? Looks to me like those guys are going to have some serious monkey butt after all those back-to-back braces.

I don't think so.

I met Tony Gibson once and he impressed me as a man who called them just like he saw them. I would run under him any time. I would even buy horse from him. I actually did buy a horse from him. I still have it too and it ain't for sale.

6 braces per day. Scheduled to name a Champion next Thursday.

I'm going to get over as much as I can. I really want to see Kinkelaar's dogs go since I don't get to see them. My dog is braced with Jay Hawk, both Blackhawk sons.

The grounds are gorgeous. Gonna be fun! :D

I think big Travis G. is gonna lay it on 'em - nice kid, got his share of bullets in the fray. Picked his brain about some conditioning programs up in MT and anxious to see how it'll work on my slow, plodding, hounds...also see if it'll make their tails grow like he said.

Good luck to all. Looks like a ton of great braces to watch. I heard Travis is going to concentrate more on the horseback stuff and slide away from walking stakes...?

I would like to see Ross' Jack win, but I sure would be happy for that Team.

Kind of along the lines of "power to the little guys" mentioned in the previous posts.

The pics of Ace in the Field and on their site are nice.

Watch out for Elhew Hannabell, she's fresh off her Endurance Championship win (90 min heats),and her 16th Championship win. What a girl! Between her and her half sisters Elhew Swami and Elhew Sunflower they've won 47 Champoinships. Now that's Awsome.

BoJack,

I can't wait to see her go. Those dogs don't get out this way very often and I've made a list of dogs to see. She is at the top. :D

The other very special brace that I am going to watch is Vagas' dog and the Insider. That should be a treat!

I would also like to see Zumbro's Ace. Not sure if I can make it or not when he runs. I like him because his pedigree has so much Guard Rail in it and he would be a stud candidate for our kennel. The walking stuff scares me, but maybe he is one of those special animals that can switch gears. Hope he does well.

Jack's brace will be fun, but realistically, he's a Derby (true Derby, not red-shirted) and most of the great dogs running in this have a whole lot more experience ...and in a stake like this, experience matters. It will be fun though. :D

Hannabell's son Coveyrise Off Lee Amazin' (Elhew Sinbad/Hannabell)who is also running is just off his win of the Tex Championship and his 4th Ch win this season. He could be on the way to a record like his Momma.Ace also has that sweet Elhew blood on top.Lots of top dogs and handlers there with alot of experience, but anything can happen and it could be a real shootout.Good luck to you and Vagas. You're lucky to be able see some of it.If you get any pics, post them.

Ross,

Speaking of derbys if you get a chance watch a setter male named Cody in the 32nd brace. I've ran against him all year and he is the real deal. I would suggest that anyone who gets a chance to watch Offlee Amazin. He can fly!!!

For those of you in the Mid-West and can't make it to Georgia, the top 12 dogs will be running at Conway, AR in the US Shooting Dog Invitational, for my money the top shooting dog trial in the country.

There are no fillers, no "only if he can get around clean", no dogs that almost handle, just the proven winners running two days in a row, and then 2 to 4 called back for 90 minutes. It takes a good one to do it right for three days.

The gallerys are never over-large, you can always be right on top of the action, and Camp Robinson SUA has some of the nicest facilities anywhere, there must be a total of 100 kennels and nearly as many stalls, even camping sites. Some years the weather does not cooperate, but most years it is just right to run a bird dog, lows in the 30's, high in the 40's and usually overcast.

Come join us,

Neil

Neil,

I will be there! I've got one of the 12 dogs in it. Camp Robinson has to be the nicest place in the country. First class everything. I was there this year for the Ozark and the place looked great. It was a little woolly in spots, but the grounds were in good shape. It'll be nice to see you.

Georgia Derby Classic, cross psoted from another board:

I know the 1st place dog was Bitter Sweet Alibi - Luke E., Second was also Luke but not sure which dog (Erin's something), Third was Caladen's Rail Hawk - George Tracy. I saw Alibi, and Rail Hawk run. Two very nice races with good bird work

Congrats to the winners!!

CH Merrills Carolina Shawn Kinkelaar
RU Richfields Silver Belle Luke Eisenhart

Jack ran a heck of a race this morning! Really had the judges sitting up in their saddles. Powerful forward race and handling like he was on a string. John Ray yelled to George that Jack was standing on a limb find about 500 yards up a tree line!

During the flush, the rain soaked bird couldn't make it out of the plum thicket and Jack pounced on it like a puppy!! lol.

I rode over and asked George why he screwed up the dog that I had broke ...and he said it always happens when the "bleep" owners show up!! Hahaha. We both just laughed...

It was a great Championship and a lot of fun!! :D

Congratualtions to the winning dogs and their owners. I met Bill Merrifield up at Baldwinsville a few years ago and he impressed me as a class act. I can say exactly the same for bill mc Namee who i met at Assunpink.

I have never seen Merrihill's Carolina perform, but I can say that I am not surprised to see Richfield's Silver Belle knocking on the door. That is one hallacious dog.

Ross -

I am glad your dog gave it a good run and that you liked what you saw. Wet birds suck and even the best and most disciplined dogs can lose it eventually.

Don't be too hard on George. He has Mike and Jeannette to contend with . Keep the faith. Your dog's turn will come. George will see to that. Just like most of the dogs he runs...there ain't no quit in him neither.

George is great! I hope you didn't misunderstand, I rode up and said that to be funny. I was laughing, the judges were laughing and then George started laughing! Dogs aren't robots, but what Jack did was so unexpected that we were all in shock for a moment. I trained and broke Jack so when he jumped in like he did, it just struck me funny!

That's dogs and that's trialing ...and that's what makes it fun! :D

Congrats to the Winner and Runner-Up.
In a trial Anything can happen. And like you said Ross Jack's still a Derby, going against alot of more experieneced dogs.He gave it a shot and it had to be a good experience for him.Barring low or no bird contacts it must've been a good one with all the quality dogs running, including numerous Champions.Hopefully you'll have some input on the dogs you seen run.
How did Runnin Tab do Vagas? I'm sure he give it a good shot also. And you still have the Invitational to look forward to.
