Torn Tendon - Now What?

Post by vern3 » Mon Jun 22, 2009 5:35 pm

One of my best friends found out today that his 11 yr old pointer has a torn tendon. WHat is the best surgery for her to have and what is a realistic expectation for her as far as everyday life and hopefully hunting again? This is one of those once in a lifetime dogs that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up when you see her work. She isn't even my dog and I feel like I have been kicked in the b--ls. Just wondering what to expect and also what about rehab? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. If you would rather send pm that will work also. THanks in advance. Vernon

I did some reserarch. A Torn tendon usually happens to the "week-end warrior" - ad who is worked hard on the week-end but not during the week. Good lesson for me to remember.
