Picture contest...*amended*

OK, so I proposed a monthly picture contest in order to possibly create an annual calendar to benefit gundogforum.com (if things work out). If you haven't read the rules yet, you can view the original thread here:

But we have decided that if we actually go through with the calendar, the contest would have to end before the end of the year in order to give us time to produce the product. So, in light of that realization, I have decided to award 2 monthly picture awards in the month of January (one for January and one for February). The general idea is to submit pictures that in some way represent the month. For January we generally are pursuing a "winter" theme, whatever that means where you live.

For the February pics, I am not going to suggest a rigid theme but rather a few ideas:
Groundhog Day (spring, more winter, repetitive, etc)
Valentine's Day (pink, love, hearts, whatever)
and anything else you may think of

Like January, February's monthly prize will be your choice of a $25 gift card to Cabela's or a premier membership to gundogforum.com for one year. The deadline for entries will be January 31st at 6:00 eastern for BOTH months. And rest assured, any pictures submitted to the previous thread are eligible for both months.

There is now 50 bucks total on the line, and the competition is getting better by the minute. So get out there and snap your best pics and get them to me by 1/31! Thanks again to everyone for the suggestions, and especially to all the wonderful contributors so far!!

I would prefer the pictures and the dogs be owned by the person who submits them. It will help to avoid any potential copyright problems.

I asked that the original one be locked so everyone would see the amendments posted here without having to sort through 8 pages and possibly miss that we're doing 2 separate contests in January. All photos posted there count in the contest. Any new photos should be posted here. Sorry for the confusion!

If somebody can photoshop the collar out I would very much appreciate it. It's one of my favorites of him but the collars are distracting.

Good news!

After realizing I have probably bit off more than I can chew, I have recruited some superior talent to assist me. In addition to the original mastermind
(Eddie F), I have also persuaded a couple of others to help me sort through all of these wonderful pictures. Tim Schoenborn and Don have magnanimously agreed to donate their special talents and expertise in this contest, and I am very grateful for their generous offers.

I now feel like we will have a wonderful contest with some of the best talent on the new "advisory panel"

. They have even generously agreed to allow me to continue to participate.
