DT Launchers

Post by snips » Tue Oct 28, 2008 9:20 pm

Has anyone had any problems with them not releasing. Sometimes it takes 5-10 pushes to get them to release. IF they release. I am sending them back in for repair, they sounded like they knew what it was. We have had them about a yr.

Whewww, I just checked with Lion Country, ours are still under Warranty for a couple more weeks. Man, that it not good, if it is a universal problem then you would think they would fix it for nothing. When I called they sounded like they were familiar with the problem. 8)

No they would cover it under their "life time warranty" they said it was environmental causes that made the board go bad...had nothing to do that the box they made isn't sealed enough to keep dust and moisture out...i am not speaking of being in rain

also the tiny remote we had to buy another of those also cause the button failed...also blamed on us...well i guess when your getting frustrated pushing the button to get the launcher to launch it can cause the connection to stop making contact

we were charge about 80 dollar for each launcher that would be 3 to get fixed and then another almost 100 bucks for the sorry but cheesy tiny transmitter

i over all do like the launcher themselves but am less and less happy with the long term of the launchers under a trainers use..not just the average joe use on a dog or two and then be done with them

also when we got our boxes back from being redone the auto shut off no longer works

Unfortunately, you don't have to use them that much to experience the problem. I'm a one dog guy and had this problemhappen to me after 3 months.

I saw this thread and had to jump in here with my recent frustration with DT. I read on these forums how great the customer service is from TT, Sportdog etc... I must say I have had no luck with customer service from DT. I just sent a beeper collar in for repair (not working on point only) and they replaced the battery and didn't fix the original problem. I am still waiting for an email on how to correct this problem and even though under warranty were going to charge me. Sorry for the rant off subject but I am getting frustrated.

I sent mine in yesterday and LCS emailed them on my purchase date. I will keep updated on if they cover it.

I haven't had the problem you experienced, but I did have 1 DT launcher take a dump on me this past Spring that was only about 2 months old and LCS traded out the electronics for me. The folks up at Lion Country are first rate and living as close as I do, rather than mail order, I often drive up to pick up a couple items at once and of course browse around and see what other items I "got to have"!

I've had to send my 7802 Collars back to DT after having them for 2 years and they don't warranty the batteries, so I was charged for those; but they did replace both beeper horns for me without my requesting it and did a good once over on them and cleaned them up prior to sending them back.

Let us know how they treat you B.

That would be nice, but in my case, the 7802's are sealed :(

I'm having a problem with one I bought in May. I am going call DT this week and see what they say. If I have problems I'll just return it to Cabelas and let them deal with DT.

I'm having the same problems.. I thought it was just me.. Either a delay, or it won't work. Sometimes it will work fine. I guess it depends on what mood it's in.

What's the waranty last? I think I bought mine last fall/early winter..
Thanks guys.

I must be very lucky. No problem with mine . ( Except for thinking I had lost the charger, ordering a new one and then finding out "the child" was using it in his bedroom.

I thought it was a yr. Mine were a couple of weeks from it. Have not heard from them yet. I got mine from LCS and they were great about emailing my receipt to DT.
