New Pup!
New Pup!
I went up to visit Ross (Yawallac) last weekend at his new grounds. We ran Gent and one of his dogs and had a blast....then I saw this guy and HAD to bring him home! I've been calling him "Jax." Just wanted to show him off a little. He's been coming out of his shell over the last few days and getting pretty bold. Took him out and let him bump a quail and chase it...he had a blast! I think Ross is hoping that the new pup is going to make me forget that he has Gent right now...not gonna happen,I still want him back.... haha! He's about 12 weeks old, his pedigree is in my signature.

Re: New Pup!
Congrats man. 3 dogs are going to keep you busy. You running Gent in the NA test? If so we will see you there.
Re: New Pup!
Thanks. No NA test. Ross is running him in a horseback trial tomorrow and I'll be running him Saturday and Sunday in the NBHA Amateur Derby...I'm pretty excited! How's your pup doing?MillerClemsonHD wrote:Congrats man. 3 dogs are going to keep you busy. You running Gent in the NA test? If so we will see you there.

Nice. Pup is doing great. Going to run her Na test in november and then do her JH this spring. Probably going to send her out to the Dokota's or Montana for a month or so next summer and then see what all we will get into next fall/spring. Planning a trip out west somewhere for next fall/winter too. Good luck this weekend.

Nice looking puppy, Matt! I can't wait to see him.
I kind of wish I had Scarlett here to run her in the NBHA trial this weekend. I love to show up with my Weims and show the guys what Weims can do!

He might still be a little too young to run out there in December...what do you think??
Re: New Pup!
I was joshing you, he wont be anywhere ready. Sure wont hurt bringing him along though, be a great experience for him even if he doesnt hunt! I might have a few treelines along some bean fields that he could run on.

Re: New Pup!
Is the Gent dog two years old?
If he is not, he is probably running in derby stakes.
Congrats on the placement though!
I like the Gent dogs deposition.
Is he a big runner or more of a shooting dog?

Gent is almost 16 months old, and yes he was running in the derby stakes. Ross said he could've won but he checked in a little too often, said he put on a show. He is definitely a big running dog but he handles like a DREAM and adapts well to the cover! He really is a heck of a dog.KY Grouse Hunter wrote:Is the Gent dog two years old?

Checking in too ealy usually fades with age. I've had dogs that check in alot while they were young and as they got older and more accustomed to the game, the lengthend their casts quite well. Love the dog though, sounds like hes a good one.
