Post by BrettBryan » Mon Aug 25, 2008 9:02 am

I have a new trial prospect. I worked him again Saturday a.m. Needless to say, I am very proud of him already. I thought i would share a few pictures of Hank. Here he is.

Thx, Mt. Lee, He's a little over 17 months old now. I am very excited about him. Here's another picture or two of him.

Hi Brett,

Tell us about Hank's breeding. Are you going to train him for NSTRA or other venues?
Best of luck whatever the venue.

Gunner,
Good to hear from you. Hank's out of Rock Acre Blackhawk and a Rock Acre Buckwheat bitch named Tallgrass Pretty. So, he's pretty heavy Blackhawk blood.

As far as which venue: I have him steady to wing and shot right now. So, my plan is to run him in a few Derby's this fall. Maybe, some walking Shooting Dog and some horseback Shooting Dog. I want to give it a shot. I have a neighbor that has a few saddle horses that said he would help me out a little. I just want to get my feet wet a little. I dont' have the money to push Hank hard. But, I want to give it a try in a few trials. Then, after that, I'll make a definite decision with him.

My main thing with him is that I want to keep him handling for me and just being a fun dog to run.

I know, I really need to make a decision on which venue I am going to run him in. I dont' want to confuse him. Right now, I've just been letting him hunt the country as he see's it.

Charles,
I appreciate the comments on Hank. I do like him a lot.

Good to hear from you. Has your job slowed down enough for you to make a few trials this year? I hope so.

I am looking forward to fall. This all work and no play is getting old.

How are Josh and your setters doing?

Brett,

We are getting close to finishing the Katrina damage in Alabama so things look better for me this year. I have my fingers crossed that these new storms miss us.

Dogs are fine.

I heard you won the MS Region, congratulations.

Hope to see you end of September at Lawrenceburg.

Charles
